Trustee Vacancies 2026
Merton Music Foundation

Merton Music Foundation (MMF) is seeking to appoint new trustees to its board. These unpaid roles offer the opportunity to help shape the future of a dynamic cultural organisation in South West London at an exciting time in its 35 year history.
About the role
MMF has a governing body of ten Trustees who meet up to six times a year. Trustees are volunteers responsible for overseeing MMF, holding the charity to account and complying with the charity’s governing document and the law. Our trustees use their skills and experience to support MMF and help it achieve it’s aims.
Who are we looking for?
We are committed to our vision of being ‘an inclusive cultural organisation – not just in what we say, but also in what we do’. Our board is diverse and representative of our local community, however through this process we hope to improve representation of members of the disabled community in our governance.
We believe that representation matters and warmly encourage applications from historically under-represented groups and specifically encourage applications from people who identify as having a disability. We would also like to encourage parents/guardians of MMF ensemble members to apply to join the board.
Above all else, you will be passionate about music education.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have any of the following skills and experiences:
- Charity law
- Marketing / brand development
- Digital (strategy, AI, security, data management etc)
- Fundraising
- Developing commercial/traded income streams
We are also interested in hearing from those who are innovative thinkers, have the ability to navigate challenging conversations or are experienced in organisational or education governance.
If any of this sounds like you, please get in touch.
