Administration Officer Wanted

September 2024 Start

  • Hours: Part Time, 0.8 (flexible working)
  • Salary: £24,000 (FTE = £30,000)
  • Location: MMF Office (SW19) and remotely by arrangement

Are you a highly organised, proactive administrator with a passion for music education and excellent people skills?

Our vision is a borough where music resonates along the corridors of every school and echoes throughout the community.

Following the retirement of a long-standing colleague, Merton Music Foundation (MMF) is seeking to appoint an Administration Officer to oversee its Single Central Record and support the effective administration of the Foundation’s waiting list registration process for instrumental lessons. This customer-facing role will sit within the organisation’s Admin Team and is vital to supporting and developing the Foundation’s back-office processes.

MMF has undergone a period of rapid development and innovation since the pandemic, developing new programmes and ways of working and reaching over 8000 pupils each year through its teaching programmes and special projects. 2024-25 will be an important period of transition for MMF as it forms part of the newly created Hub Lead Organisation for South West London.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented and an excellent communicator, able to take responsibility for vital safeguarding and vetting processes. We are looking for a warm character with outstanding people-skills to act as the face (and voice!) of the organisation, supporting customers and handling queries effectively.

Merton Music Foundation is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value diversity and have made a vision commitment to being ‘an inclusive cultural organisation – not just in what we say, but also in what we do’. We believe that representation matters and actively seek to diversify our workforce at all levels of the organisation. We warmly encourage applications from historically under-represented groups, including but not limited to; members of the global majority; members of the LGBTQ+ community; people who identify as non-binary or gender queer; people with a disability; and people who are neurodivergent. The decision to appoint will be made solely based on candidate merit and business need.
