Merton Music Foundation

We can teach your child to sing or play a musical instrument and our friendly, professional tutors offer lessons in a wide-range of instruments, including brass (trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba), strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), woodwind (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone), percussion (drum kit, classical and world percussion), piano, electric keyboard, recorder, guitar and voice.

Lessons can be taught individually, or in small groups for beginners, and take place either in schools (depending on availability), or outside school hours at our Music Centre bases (Harris Academy, Morden and Crown Lane Studio, Morden). Why not take that first step to find out more today?

Information about learning an instrument

At Music Centre we provide a wide range of engaging and exciting group music-making activities for young musicians of all abilities, which we run on Saturday mornings and Monday and Wednesday evenings in term-time. Playing as part of a band or ensemble with MMF gives your child the opportunity to grow in confidence, enhance their skills and perform in concerts and at events. Further afield, our Music Centre members go on annual tours to Europe as well as performing regularly at the Royal Albert Hall. Take a look at our Music Centre page to see the exciting range of groups we have on offer!

A termly membership fee is charged, providing members with access to the Foundation’s bands, choirs, orchestras and ensembles. Members may participate in more than one activity without further charge. Reductions are also available for families receiving MMF Trust Fund support and for second and subsequent children within families.
