Trustee Vacancies September 22

Two Trustee posts available with the option to consider Vice-Chair.

Merton Music Foundation (MMF) is seeking to appoint two new Trustees to its board. These unpaid roles offer the opportunity to help shape the future of a dynamic cultural organisation in South West London at an exciting time in its 30+ year history.

About MMF

Our vision is a borough where music resonates along the corridors of every school and echoes throughout the community. A place of aspiration where every child can find their first notes, make progress and flourish as a young musician.

Merton Music Foundation is an independent music service and lead partner for the Merton Music Education Hub. The charity is nationally renowned for providing high quality, comprehensive and inclusive music education programmes for the young people of Merton and surrounding areas. Further details of our activities can be found on our website: www.mmf.org.uk

About the Role

MMF has a governing body of eight Trustees who meet up to six times a year. Trustees are volunteers responsible for overseeing MMF, holding the charity to account and complying with the charity’s governing document and the law. Our trustees use their skills and experience to support MMF and help it achieve its aims.

Who We are Looking For

We value diversity and have made a vision commitment to being ‘an inclusive cultural organisation – not just in what we say, but also in what we do’. We believe that representation matters and are aiming to increase trustees from marginalised groups by 20% in 2022.

Our Ideal Applicant

We are interested in hearing from those who are innovative thinkers, have the ability to navigate challenging conversations or are skilled at methodically following a project through to completion. Above all else, you will be passionate about music education.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have any of the following skills and experiences:

  • Working as a professional musician
  • Digital marketing
  • Campaigning and advocacy
  • Fundraising
  • Social Investment
  • Developing commercial/traded income streams

If any of this sounds like you, please get in touch.
