For Guitar tutors

Drawing on his 1978 book Tone Production on the Classical Guitar and four decades of recording leading guitarists, John Taylor explores the physical principles behind tone production, how teachers can develop students’ control of the string, and the guitar’s remarkable resonance, singing tone and range of colours.

For String Tutors

Rebecca Janson, one of our cello tutors, will be giving a presentation on strategies for teaching very young string players. There will be a chance for questions, and you would all be very welcome to share your ideas.

For all tutors:

The session will begin with a short presentation on preparing for the Aural section of examinations, with an emphasis on the higher grades. Tutors will be encouraged to share their ideas and any helpful hints.

There will be tea coffee and biscuits when you arrive.
