Fun, music and new friendships

Tour is a wonderful opportunity for young musicians to develop their performance skills and create friendships that last a liftetime. Overall, parents rate tour 5 stars out of 5 for the benefitial impact on pupils.

Who can attend?

The ensembles invited to go on tour are:

  • Merton Youth Concert Band
  • Merton Youth Jazz Orchestra
  • Senior Guitar Ensemble
  • String Sinfonia
  • VoiceBox Choir 

Any young people in these groupsin Year 7 – 13 may attend. 

Cost & what’s included

The total cost of the tour will be £850 per pupil.

The price of the tour will include:  

  • The organisation and publicity of three concerts, tailored to the groups performing  
  • A comprehensive excursion programme, with included entrance fees.  
  • Half-board accommodation in multi bedded rooms with breakfast and evening meal included (students will need to provide their own lunch)  
  • Use of executive coach with driver, for both transport to/from the UK, and transport to excursions and concerts.  
  • Return channel crossing.  
  • Travel Insurance  

Tour dates

Dates: Monday 26 – Friday 30 July, 2027

Location: Leuven, Belgium

Depart: Early on Monday 26 July from Merton Abbey Primary School (Time TBA)

Return: Evening on Friday 30 July

Payment schedule

Deposit: £250 payable by 19 October 2026

Instalment 1: £200 payable by 30 November 2026

Instalment 2: £200 payable by 1 February 2027

Instalment 3: £200 payable by 22 March 2027

NB: Payments become due on the dates shown.  In the event your child withdraws, you are liable for the full costs unless another pupil can be found to take their place. In certain circumstances, you may be eligible to make a claim on our travel insurance policy. The deposit is non-refundable in all cases.

Financial support

Thanks to funding from MMF’s own TEMPO Fund, we are able to offer financial assistance of between 40 – 80% of the overall cost for families of pupils who face barriers to access. Contact us at tour@mmf.org.uk to discuss.
