Tutor Conference 2024

We are delighted to invite all MMF staff and tutors to our annual Tutor Conference on Wednesday 18 September 2024 at Lantern Arts Centre, Raynes Park (SW20 8RA).

Arrive: 9:15am for a 9:30am start. Finish: 3:15pm (sandwich lunch provided).

ACMD Exam Assessor Training

MMF is a Validated Provider for Trinity Awards and Certificates in Musical Development (ACMD), a new fully inclusive teacher-assessed exam.

We will be holding an in-person assessor training event during the afternoon of Monday 16 September 2024 at our offices in South Wimbledon, led by Prof. Adam Ockelford of The University of Roehampton.

This free event is open to all MMF staff and tutors – please express your interest via the form below and we will be in touch with more information.

KCSiE & Prevent Declaration 2023-24

KCSiE 2023

All adults working in schools are required to have read at least Part 1 of the most recent update to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE).

Prevent Duty

MMF is required to ensure all staff working on its behalf in Merton schools and Music Centres ‘have a good understanding of Prevent are trained to recognise vulnerability to being drawn into terrorism and are aware of available programmes to deal with this issue’.

Action Required

All MMF staff, tutors and volunteers are required to submit a declaration confirming that they are in compliance with this legislation.

Opportunities for your pupils

There are so many ways in which your pupils can expand their musical experience through MMF, whether that’s moving from shared to individual lessons; joining one of our many ensembles (we run regular Come & Play taster sessions), learning an additional instrument or joining our online Music Theory classes.

We are always looking for enthusiastic and committed tutors to provide tuition for a range of instruments both in Merton schools and at our Music Centre.

If you would like to tutor with MMF please email your CV and a covering letter to jobs@mmf.org.uk and we will be in touch with any vacancies. All tutors working with us are subject to an enhanced DBS clearance and two satisfactory references.

Music Centre & Lessons Discount

MMF Tutors are entitled to claim a 50% discount on the cost of Music Centre membership and a 25% discount on instrumental lessons for their own children. Please contact us to arrange.

Reporting a Concern About a Child

If you have a concern about a child you must report it in writing to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at the school/centre in which you are teaching and follow up with MMF’s DSL, Elisabeth Wigley on the same day.
