Tuesday 10 March 2026

On Tuesday 10 March 2026 the Royal Albert Hall will burst with the sound of over 1,500 young musicians from Merton schools and MMF Music Centres.

Every Merton child deserves a chance to perform at the Royal Albert Hall

An unforgettable event

‘To Boldly Go’

The theme of this year’s concert is ‘To Boldly Go’, featuring a specially commissioned suite of music called ‘Lookin’ Up – The Story of Flight’. The performance will showcase an incredible massed choir of 1200 Merton school children & local community groups, 250 young musicians from MMF’s Music Centre ensembles and professional musicians including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Olivia Murphy, Derek Paravicini, Joe Garland and Pete Churchill alongside some intergalactic special guests!

A truly unforgettable event – Merton music making at its finest!

Support our Crowdfunder

To help make this opportunity available for every child, Merton Music Foundation has launched a crowdfunder and is inviting the community to support this project. Every child deserves an opportunity like this. Help us ensure that all young people, regardless of background or circumstances, can perform on one of the world’s most iconic stages, with someone they love in the audience!
