MMF Safeguarding Training dates, Sept 2026 

All MMF-led Sept 2026 Safeguarding Training dates have now passed.

Level 2 Online Safeguarding Course
If you are unable to attend an MMF-organised event, or provide evidence of attendance of training at another school / service, please complete a Level 2 online course, such as the one below.

All staff/tutors working on behalf of MMF in Merton schools and Music Centres must declare that they have read at least Part 1 of the latest version of Keeping Children in Education, which was published on 1 Sept 2026.

We also require you to confirm an awareness of your responsibilities under the Prevent Duty and that you have read MMF’s Code of Conduct and Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy 2026-27.

In accordance with ‘Benedict’s Law’, we require all MMF staff, tutors and volunteers to undertake regular Allergy Awareness Training, including recognising anaphylaxis and knowing how to respond in an emergency. We will provide Allergy Awareness Training during our Tutor Conference on 16 September.

There are so many ways in which your pupils can expand their musical experience through MMF, whether that’s moving from shared to individual lessons; joining one of our many ensembles (we run regular Come & Play taster sessions), learning an additional instrument or joining our online Music Theory classes.

We are always looking for enthusiastic and committed tutors to provide tuition for a range of instruments both in Merton schools and at our Music Centre.

MMF Tutors are entitled to claim a 50% discount on the cost of Music Centre membership and a 25% discount on instrumental lessons for themselves and their own children. Please contact us to arrange.
