MMF Tutor Conference 2026
MMF Tutor Conference 2026
MMF tutors come together for a day of learning, sharing expertise and preparing for the new school year
Our annual Tutor Conference brought MMF music tutors together for a day of learning, sharing ideas and spending time with the wider team. We started with a lively body percussion warm-up led by our Drum Line leader, Lulu, before getting stuck into a programme of sessions covering everything from peer learning and Makaton (with Lawrence from Crown Lane Studio), to improvisation and ideas for working with students who don’t practise between lessons.
Most of the sessions were led by our own tutors, giving them the chance to share their knowledge and experience with others. There were also sessions on Music Medals, curriculum planning, safeguarding, Allergy Training (with Jen from Wimbledon First Aid), and teaching neurodivergent pupils. Instrumental group networking and ensemble leader discussions gave everyone a chance to catch up, swap ideas and talk about the things that matter in their teaching.
A big thank you to all the tutors who shared their experiences and expertise throughout the day. As one tutor put it: “I really valued the opportunity to chat to other tutors in person. It felt great to have this opportunity to meet with tutors and the core team on a single occasion and feel part of an organisation. The day had a really positive, inspiring vibe.”
It was fantastic to see everyone feeling so energised and ready for the new year ahead.
