Resonance Ensemble is MMF’s new free open access ensemble open to all young people aged 14-25 who live in and around Merton. Following a successful pilot in summer 2025, we’re delighted to announce that Resonance Ensemble will continue as a regular MMF ensemble this academic year.

Inspired by Soundsystem Culture and Electronic Dance Music, Resonance Ensemble is all about collaboration and creativity in a welcoming and inclusive space. Expect live instruments blended with sampling, triggering and music tech. Whether you play drums, trumpet, produce and home or just love music, you’re welcome at Resonance. No prior experience is required.

We’re particularly keen to hear from students who face barriers to access, particularly pupils who are registered as having Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. Access will be supported via adaptive instruments and technology.

Resonance Ensemble Showcase, Crown Lane Studio – July 2026

After a year of experimenting, collaborating and developing their confidence, Resonance members came together to share their work with family and friends at a special showcase at Crown Lane Studio.

Crown Lane Studio has been a project partner from the beginning, helping to shape and deliver Resonance as well as providing the space for the showcase. The performance was also streamed live to Metronome Coffee Shop next door, giving even more family and friends the chance to watch.

With support from DeafRave and their Woojer haptic vests, the audience could experience the music through vibration as well as sound.

With thanks to London Music Fund, Signatur, Crown Lane Studio, Metronome Coffee Shop and all our partners and supporters for helping make Resonance possible.
