TEMPO Fund Discount Scheme

Terms and Conditions

Training, Education, Musical Progression and Opportunity

1) The TEMPO Fund Discount Scheme is available to pupils of Merton Music Foundation (MMF) aged 5-18 whose parent/guardian is in receipt of an eligible benefit. The decision to award, or withdraw, the discount scheme in relation to any pupil or generally shall be at the sole discretion of MMF. MMF reserves the right to update or amend these terms and conditions at any time.

2) The eligible benefits are: Income Support; Universal Credit; Working Tax Credit, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance; Income-related Employment and Support Allowance; Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999; The guaranteed element of Pension Credit; and Child Tax Credit (provided you have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190).

3) These benefits are (as at the date of these terms and conditions) the same as Free School Meals eligibility, therefore pupils that are entitled to Free School Meals due to their financial circumstances are likely to qualify for support from the Scheme.

4) You must provide documentary evidence of receipt of an eligible benefit in order to be considered for the scheme and, if you have been accepted into the scheme by MMF, you must continue to provide such evidence prior at the start of every school term to continue to receive TEMPO Fund discount.

5) Separate applications must be completed for each child and submitted to MMF via its online registration page. If you are unable to apply online, please contact us: admin@mmf.org.uk / 020 8640 5446

6) It is a condition of TEMPO Fund support that fees are paid by the deadline shown on the termly invoice. Lessons missed because of late or non-payment or lack of adequate application will not be backdated or otherwise provided. If you are experiencing difficulty making payment, please contact us in confidence. In the first instance, we will do our best to support you and may seek to set up an instalment payment plan.

7) Any outstanding balances must be paid in order for an application to be considered – unless an approved instalment plan is in place.

8) Pupils receiving TEMPO Fund support will be monitored for effort and attendance. As you will appreciate, MMF is a charity and has limited resources, and pupils who (in MMF’s view) do not attend their activity regularly, and/or fail to practise at home in between lessons, may have their financial support withdrawn.

9) TEMPO Fund discount is available for a maximum of one instrumental/vocal lesson and one additional ensemble/group activity, per child. TEMPO Fund support is usually limited to a maximum of two children per family, other than in discretionary cases.

10) Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may result in the withdrawal of financial support. The full fees and hire will also become payable.
