Music is for Life! 2026: ‘Lookin’ Up’

A message from our CEO…

Dear Member,

On Tuesday 10 March, 1,500 young musicians from the London Borough of Merton will fill the Royal Albert Hall with joyous music as they take us on a stratospheric journey to the stars and beyond!

Please take a moment to watch the short video below to introduce you to Merton Music Foundation and this fantastic project. We hope you will consider donating your ticket(s) back to charity to help support this important work.

Thank you for your help.

Help 1,500 Merton children shine

A Night to Remember

‘Lookin’ Up’ will celebrate courageous pioneers who champion a spirit of endeavour, highlight the work of unsung heroes and chart humankind’s quest for the stars through the story of powered flight. This will be an interstellar evening of joyous music making, featuring performances by pupils from 20 Merton schools and Merton Music Foundation’s music centres. We are delighted to be premiering specially commissioned works from composers Raph Clarkson, Olivia Murphy, Adam Cracknell, Lulu Vallejo and Pete Churchill alongside many familiar astronomical favourites.

Please Donate Your Ticket

The evening enables young musicians from across our diverse borough to experience the thrill of outstanding music-making on a world-class stage. Performing at such an iconic venue is a unique privilege which will raise the aspirations, self-confidence and musicianship of all our young performers.

I hope you can join us for what will be an inspirational evening but, if you are unable to come along, we would be most grateful if you would kindly donate your ticket(s) back to our charity.

Access for All

We want every child to have a member of their family there to celebrate their talent and achievement in what will be a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Families will share in the pride of watching their young people shine through music-making. By generously donating your tickets you will help us balance costs to be able to run a ticket bursary scheme for the most vulnerable in our community, helping make this event is accessible to all.

We are hugely grateful for your help in responding to this request.

Thank you for the music!
