Singing & Trumpet Lessons Starting at Hatfeild Primary School

We are delighted to be expanding our music lesson offer at Hatfeild Primary School from September 2026.

From September, Merton Music Foundation will offer trumpet & singing lessons at Hatfeild Primary School, either 1-1 or in small groups. Tuition will take place during the school day and with both 20 and 30 minute sessions available.

*2 pupils for 20 minutes or 3 pupils for 30 minutes, dependent on availability (pupils must be of similar age and ability).

**If only one child is registered, an individual 15 minute lesson will be delivered.

Hiring an instrument from MMF can be a great option whilst your child is first learning. If you are applying for lessons with us, you can request instrument hire as part of the sign-up process.

To progress on their instrument, we recommend that all students practise regularly between lessons. Your child’s tutor will provide them with a practice diary within the first couple of weeks. Please use this to support their practise and to communicate with the tutor when needed.

Lessons will take place during the school day. Once assigned a lesson, your child will be given a regular lesson day. However, there may sometimes be some flexibility regarding the lesson time to accommodate other school commitments, such as trips or workshops.

MMF’s TEMPO Fund Discount Scheme aims to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent any child from receiving instrumental tuition from us.

What is TEMPO Fund

Our TEMPO Fund Discount Scheme supports eligible pupils by subsidising the cost of lessons and instrument hire fees.

  • 40% reduction of tuition fees* and Ensemble Membership fee
  • 25% off Large Group lessons and Classes
  • Reduced rate instrumental hire

Eligibility Criteria

Children (aged 5-18) whose parents/guardians receive:

  • Income Support
  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)

We will usually invoice new pupils within a few weeks of registration. Invoices are completed in batches and sent out via email. Once you have received your invoice, you can pay online via your account.
