‘Lookin’ Up’
A Night to Remember
On Tuesday 10 March, 1,500 Merton young musicians will fill the Royal Albert Hall with joyous sound as they take us on a stratospheric journey of music making.
‘Lookin’ Up’ will be an interstellar evening of joyous music making, featuring performances by pupils from over 20 Merton schools and Merton Music Foundation’s music centres. We are delighted to be premiering specially commissioned works from composers Raph Clarkson, Olivia Murphy, Adam Cracknell, Lulu Vallejo and Pete Churchill alongside many familiar astronomical favourites.

Free tickets for eligible families
Access for All
We want every child performing at the Royal Albert Hall to have a member of their family there to celebrate their talent and achievement in what will be a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Thanks to a successful Crowdfunder campaign and the support of Royal Albert Hall members, we are able to run a free ticket bursary scheme, helping make this event accessible to all.
Eligibility Criteria
Schools will receive a fair allocation of tickets through the scheme and will be able to offer these to eligible families. MMF also has a limited number of free tickets available that it can distribute directly.
Families must have at least one child performing at the concert, either with their school or an MMF group / ensemble.
We anticipate that most recipients will be eligible for Free School Meals or in receipt of Pupil Premium Grant funding.
Staff also have discretion to nominate individual pupils they feel would benefit who do not meet the FSM or PPG criteria, but face other barriers to participation such as having Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.
