Violin Lessons at Links Primary (In2Music Continuers)

Year 4 violin continuers

Your child has been learning violin with their class at school as part of Merton Music Foundation’s ‘In2Music’ programme, led by Helena Hafsteinsdóttir (Miss H). This project will finish at the end of the academic year.

If your child has enjoyed their lessons, they could continue learning the violin at Links Primary School from September 2026 during school hours with Jane Ng, your school’s violin, viola and piano tutor.

Lessons will take place on Mondays or Thursdays next year, during the school day.

Hiring an instrument from MMF can be a great option whilst your child is first learning. If you are applying for lessons with us, you can request instrument hire as part of the sign-up process.

As an In2Music continuer, you are eligible for a reduced flat-rate hire of £15 per term for the first three terms.

To progress on their instrument, we recommend that all students practise regularly between lessons. Your child’s tutor will provide them with a practice diary within the first couple of weeks. Please use this to support their practise and to communicate with the tutor when needed.

Lessons will take place during the school day. Once assigned a lesson, your child will be given a regular lesson day. However, there may sometimes be some flexibility regarding the lesson time to accommodate other school commitments, such as trips or workshops.

MMF’s TEMPO Fund Discount Scheme aims to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent any child from receiving instrumental tuition from us.
