Orchestral Workshop with the Philharmonia Orchestra

Please note – sign ups are now closed

Join us for a unique opportunity to play side-by-side with world-class musicians from the Philharmonia Orchestra as part of the Wimbledon International Music Festival.

In this special orchestral workshop, you’ll rehearse and perform a variety of dance-themed pieces, in a large ensemble and smaller sectionals, supported by professional players from the Philharmonia and MMF.

Whether you’re looking to take your orchestral playing to the next level, gain new inspiration, or simply enjoy making music in a large ensemble, this is an unforgettable chance to learn from the very best.

The workshop is open to all young musicians up to 18 years of age (you don’t need to be an MMF student to take part), playing at minimum Grade 3–4 level.

* Subsidised tickets available, including free for MMF ensemble members who would need to miss their usual Saturday rehearsal (eg. Intermediate Concert Band and Junior Percussion Ensemble).

A conductor leads the Philharmonia Orchestral Workshop in front of a large audience. Musicians play string instruments and harps, reading from red music stands, while the conductor stands at the center with arms raised.
