Merton Lead Schools Announced

‘Lead Schools’ are a new Department for Education (DfE) initiative as part of the National Plan for Music Education.

Schools locally were invited to apply for the position and following a selection process, four Merton schools have been appointed as part of the wider network of Lead Schools in the London Southwest Music Hub area. Lead Schools will ‘take a lead’ in supporting co-curricular provision locally and accross the wider hub area, for example by sharing planning, & resources and helping to coordinate peer learning networks.

SWL Music

The London Southwest Music Hub is led by a consorium group called ‘SWL Music’, which is formed of Merton Music Foundation, Sutton Music Trust, Croydon Music & Arts, Hounslow Music Service, Kingston Music Service, Richmond Music Trust & Wandsworth Music.
