Philharmonia Orchestra inspires young musicians at Wimbledon workshop
As part of the Wimbledon International Music Festival, we were delighted to welcome the Philharmonia Orchestra to run a workshop at Wimbledon High School. Forty young musicians from across South West London took part, working closely with members of the orchestra to refine their technique and gain insight into professional ensemble playing.
The workshop, led by Philharmonia’s 1st Violin, Adrián Varela, gave participants the chance to focus on their playing, develop their skills and experience working with professional musicians in a supportive environment. It was a valuable opportunity for the students to learn from experienced performers and gain insight into the workings of a world-class orchestra.
The workshop highlighted the festival’s commitment to supporting young talent, providing a platform for aspiring musicians to develop their skills and be inspired by professionals at the top of their field.
