Congratulations to FMYM

Huge congratulations to our parents’ association, Friends of Merton’s Young Musicians (FMYM) for receiving the runner up place for Volunteer Team of the Year at Merton Connected‘s Merton Partnership Civic Pride Volunteer Awards 2025!

FMYM is a charity in its own right which plays a vital role in supporting the work of MMF through year-round fundraising, concert support, and a weekly café for visitors to our Saturday Music Centre at South Wimbledon. In recent years, MMF has benefitted from the purchase of two new Yamaha pianos, PA equipment and financial support towards our Royal Albert Hall concert with plans in place for further support for next year’s RAH concert and a financial assistance scheme for pupils attending our 2026 Moselle Valley tour, thanks to the hard work of this amazing group of parent volunteers!

FMYM are in need of more volunteers to help out in the Saturday café and at MMF events from September and would love to hear from anyone who may be interested in joining a wonderful group of people that truly help to ensure music is accessible for every child in Merton.
