Music Classes for 2-8 year olds

Our Step into Music programme on Saturdays at Wimbledon College is for children aged 2-8 and is the perfect environment to nurture a lifelong love of music.
Children can explore the building blocks of music through singing, games and performing on a range of instruments. Carefully structured weekly sessions, led by an experienced music tutor will create a nurturing environment for children to create, explore and enjoy music and acting. As they move through the programme, children will begin to develop a strong sense of musicality which will help them make quick progress in a 1-2-1 or small group instrumental setting.
Hummingbirds
Parent & Toddler (ages 2-3)
Saturdays, 9-9.45am

Hummingbirds is our toddler group for children aged 2-3 with their Parents/Guardians. In these weekly, structured sessions, children will explore the world of music, whilst having lots of fun! Through moving, singing, and performing on handheld instruments, children will begin to find their own musical voice while developing a sense of pulse, rhythm, pitch and dynamics. Children can then progress to the Owls class.
Owls
Children aged 4-5
Saturdays, 11.30am-12.15pm

Owls is our music group for children to attend independently when they are aged 4-5. Building on the foundations learnt in Hummingbirds Class (if they attended), children will further develop their musical voice and performance skills. Through games, singing and performing, children will play and sing short pieces as a group, create their own music, and begin to develop confidence to perform and sing independently.
Showstoppers
Ages 6-8
Saturdays, 9.45-10.30am

Step into the spotlight with Showstoppers, our exciting new weekly class! Children will craft and perform original shows each term, blending singing, songwriting, instrumental playing, and acting. Join us for a journey where creativity takes centre stage!
Beginner Ukulele Group
Ages 6-8
Saturdays, 10.45-11.30am

Discover the joy of music with our new Saturday Ukulele Group! Songs, games, and pieces will come together to make learning the ukulele a fun and exciting new experience! No prior experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm!
Ukuleles will be provided during the lesson, but we recommend buying one to practise at home.
