It’s been great to welcome back the incredible Let Freedom Swing education ensemble from New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Centre. During their week-long stay with us, they performed concerts for schools from across the borough and delivered masterclasses to our Music Centre jazz bands, accompanied Mark Kavuma (trumpet) and MMF favourites Flavio li Vigni (drums) and Ed Babar (double bass). It was an inspiring experience for everyone who took part.
They’ll be visiting again in June for concerts and workshops and a special MMF jazz night featuring Merton Messengers, MYJO, JazzWorks and Jazz Jumpers on Friday 30 June. You won’t want to miss it so put it in your diaries now!
