Song Lab with Zara Nunn

Songwriting and Composition Workshop – Create, Collaborate & Compose

Join PRS awarded composer, Zara Nunn, and MMF staff for a day of devising, lyric writing and collaborative composition. Expect a fun, inclusive atmosphere as we work together to create a song from scratch. All abilities are welcome; everyone will be able to contribute – whether you read music or not – with parts accessible for all levels of singer and instrumentalist. We will be bold, creative, loud and even raucous as together we create and showcase a brand new piece of music.

Zara Nunn is a composer, writer, lyricist, songwriter, orchestrator and live performance artist. In addition to her well-established career as a much sought after contemporary musical theatre writer, she works across multiple disciplines including writing music for straight plays, media, cabaret, comedy, production, classical, choral and broadcast. She is a six-time ABRSM commissioned composer and alongside her main professional composing and musical direction engagements, Zara has spent over twenty-five years working extensively in music and theatre education where she has specialised in major large-scale devising and performance projects both in the UK and internationally.

The workshop will take place across the day at Merton Music Centre, South Wimbledon. Pupils will be supervised by MMF staff, who are all qualified to work with children and have been vetted. Pupils will need to bring their own lunch and snacks, the day will end with a short performance to parents/guardians between 3:40pm – 4pm.
