New Wimbledon Theatre

The incredible Blues & Roots Ensemble were back at the New Wimbledon Theatre with two exuberant interactive concerts, based on the music of legendary US jazz musician Charles Mingus.

The concerts were organised by Merton Music Foundation and attended by over 1,700 children from Merton schools. The young people listened, sang and played with BARE whilst learning more about the origins of jazz, jazz form and improvisation. The enthusiasm of the audience was truly uplifting and once again underlines the importance of ensuring that all young people receive high quality music experiences as part of a well-balanced, inspiring and empowering education.

Our thanks to Arts Council England and The Taylor Family Foundation for the funding to support this wonderful event. The energy in that glorious theatre was quite something.
