‘Building Bridges’

An Interactive jazz concert with Blues & Roots Ensemble at New Wimbledon Theatre

We were thrilled to return to New Wimbledon Theatre to host 1,600 pupils and teachers from schools across Merton for an unforgettable interactive jazz performance with the incredible Blues & Roots Ensemble. Through this dynamic concert, pupils explored the rich history of jazz and enjoyed captivating pieces by jazz legends Charles Mingus, Abdullah Ibrahim, and Dorothy Ashby.

In preparation, the schools engaged with a series of specially created videos, and their vibrant singing and body percussion really brought the theatre to life!
