Celebrating Our Mini Musicians!

A huge congratulations to our Year 2 Mini Musicians!
We’re incredibly proud to have submitted 250 pupils from Merton primary and special schools for the Trinity College London ‘Awards and Certificates in Musical Development’ (ACMD) — the largest cohort ever to be put forward for these inclusive accreditations!
As part of our end-of-project celebrations, a group of children from Merton Abbey Primary School received certificates on behalf of their classmates. MMF’s Chief Executive, David Rees, was delighted to present the awards and is pictured here alongside headteacher Mr Bradley and Mini Musicians tutor Sally.
David shared:
“ACMD is an exciting new accreditation that enables us as teachers to celebrate the things pupils can do, at any stage of their musical development. We are grateful to our colleagues at Sounds of Intent Charity and Trinity College London for helping to make this incredible achievement happen, but most of all I am proud of the children – who have shown us how much progress is possible at such a young age, if the right support is there.”
✨ Mini Musicians is a Key Stage 1 inclusive teaching approach developed and delivered by MMF in partnership with the University of Roehampton and Sing Up, made possible through generous funding from Merton Council.
