Community & Partnerships Leader Wanted

Starting ASAP, or flexibly until April 2025

Community & Partnerships Leader

  • Part Time, 0.8 (a full-time position would also be considered)
  • Salary = £28,000 (£35k Full-Time Equivalence)
  • Location: MMF Office (SW19), Merton schools, and remotely by arrangement

Are you a highly effective communicator and musician with experience in fundraising and/or community settings, who is passionate about enabling access to arts education opportunities for every child?

Following internal promotions and a colleague relocating out of the country, Merton Music Foundation (MMF) is in a unique position to be able to advertise two new Middle Leadership Team roles: Community & Partnerships Leader, and Ensembles & Tuition Leader. Both roles will be appointed simultaneously with some flexibility to alter the full-time equivalence and/or responsibilities of either position to best suit the skillset and preferences of our two successful candidates.

Our vision is a borough where music resonates along the corridors of every school and echoes throughout the community. The Community & Partnerships Leader oversees the development of the Foundation’s fundraising and local community partnerships, ensuring a varied programme of musical activity which is accessible to all children and young people through dynamic charitable income generation and strategic allocation of funds.

You will be a capable musician and creative individual who is a passionate advocate for every child’s right to access high quality musical experiences. We are ideally looking for someone with experience of fundraising and/or working with young people in youth, community or school settings. You will be confident in articulating your message to a range of audiences, including via formal funding applications, and able to develop strong professional relationships with individuals and organisations locally. You will need strong IT skills and the ability to utilise social media and website content management to reach a wide audience. This middle leadership role requires working independently and part of a wider team, planning strategically and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure projects are seen through to their conclusion.
