Saxophone Ensemble is a small saxophone choir playing a huge range of repertoire, including classical pieces such as Mozart and Bach, to jazz pieces by musicians such as Charles Mingus, to pop repertoire such as Stevie Wonder and Queen. Sax Ensemble provides a chance for players to work on their saxophone playing, developing a flexible and musical sound that can work with such a wide range of material as well as blending with the other saxophonists, plus working on their reading and general musicianship. It’s also a great opportunity for saxophone players to try playing other members of the saxophone family they may not have tried before such as the baritone saxophone.
