Music Classes for 2-8 year olds

Our Step into Music programme on Saturdays at Wimbledon College is for children aged 2-8 and is the perfect environment to nurture a lifelong love of music.
Children can explore the building blocks of music through singing, games and performing on a range of instruments. Carefully structured weekly sessions, led by an experienced music tutor will create a nurturing environment for children to create, explore and enjoy music and acting. As they move through the programme, children will begin to develop a strong sense of musicality which will help them make quick progress in a 1-2-1 or small group instrumental setting.
Hummingbirds
Parent & Toddler (2 & 3 years)

Fun, practical musical games, songs and stories, helping develop music, language, social skills and lots more!
Owls
Ages 4 & 5
Saturdays, 9.45 – 10.30am

Learn music through songs, games and stories! Your child will build skills essential to later playing any instrument, as well as making friends and having fun.
NB Parents are welcome to stay and gradually over the term some children will choose to take part independently.
Swans
Ages 5 – 7
Saturdays, 11.30am – 12.15pm

(Formerly Owls) Swans is our new progression group. This group builds on skills learned in Owls and Hummingbirds. Sing and play lots of different percussion instruments in multiple parts, as well as beginning to explore notation and write your own songs
Beginner Ukulele Group
Ages 6-8
Saturdays, 10.45-11.30am

Discover the joy of music with our new Saturday Ukulele Group! Songs, games, and pieces will come together to make learning the ukulele a fun and exciting new experience! No prior experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm!
Ukuleles will be provided during the lesson, but we recommend buying one to practise at home.
Large Group Keyboard Lesson
Ages 5-8
Saturdays, 12.45 – 1.30pm (for 1 year from Autumn 2024)

This is a fun, active, practical way to learn piano and develop ensemble skills as a musician playing in a group. After a year children can move onto individual piano lessons or keep learning in a group.
