Sat 22 July (travel day)

It was an early start for our coachload of intrepid musicians. Here we are at Dover, waiting to board the ferry.

Lake Geneva, here we come!

Day 2: Mon 24 July

Day 3: Tue 25 July

At Parc Aventure at Aigle. Amazingly, the weather has held- dramatic thunder, lightening and heavy rain last night and staff had constructed a great Plan B – down the salt mines! Children now whizzing past from height in every direction!

We weren’t so lucky with the weather in the afternoon so unfortunately our concert in the mountain town of Gryon was rained-off. The great thing about a music tour though, is that there’s no shortage of entertainment so it was open-mic night at MMF basecamp.

After the open mic, we opened the floor to some of students to jam – the hostel was buzzing!
Aw, bless! This group received an ‘A’ for effort, but it’s been politely requested that they refrain from any future performances 🫤.

Day 4: Wed 26 July

Our final concert in Yvoire.

In a time-honoured tradition, our coach drivers Dean and Matt joined the percussion section for our last number.

Another tour tradition is our last night Awards Ceremony when pupils performed their own renditions of a range of pieces X-Factor style to a judging panel made up of the staff team. Judges were impressed by the creativity, coordination and virtuosity of the performances!

‘Just the Two of Us’ like you’ve never heard it before. More Kazoo Ensemble performances to come.

We also wished a fond farewell to our Year 13 Leavers – we wish you the best of luck in the future and thank you for the music!

Day 5: Thurs 27 July – homeward bound!
